We receive numerous calls on a daily basis for help in wanting food, meals delivered and all types of needs during COVID19. The impact of getting a meal to a senior is so appreciated, because seniors aren't leaving their homes. We are sharing our facility with another senior center and between both centers we are serving, delivering and providing approximately 600 meals per day. Yeah, 600 seniors needing our help! Some of you may not know but ALL events & activities have been suspended due to COVID19 and our seniors have complied to the directives to say home. But we need to get food to them, whether groceries, shelf stable food, and for tho...se that have transportation they can drive by and pickup their hot lunch. Today on our menu we are serving Fish - yes fish, we love our community and invite you to drive by and pickup a meal and donate just $10 if you don't want to donate online. $3 of that ten would go toward the meal and $7 in providing food. We are essential workers at Bakersfield Senior Center, because we have a lunch program for seniors through Meals on Wheels for Congregates. But with COVID19, they can't congregate, but they can drive through and pickup their lunch from 11:30-12noon. Our menu is on our website www.bakersfieldseniorcenter.org, we feed over 1049 seniors in March, and in April in a single day we feed over 107. You can also donate on our website so we can continue to impact the lives of our seniors by keeping them feed. No donation is too small and no donation is too large! God Bless You!
