2020 marks the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth. If you would like to own this painting of him by SoCal artist Donna Weil, you can place your bid on this - and loads of other amazing items - at our Italian Supper fundraiser on Wednesday evening at the Chimbole Center in Palmdale. Olivia Simons bedazzled the judges with her take on Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, 1st Movement, taking 2nd place in the Gail Newby Concerto Competition, Instrumental. She also bedazzled in that gorgeous green dress!
It's a brave woman who takes on Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2! An Honorable Mention for Abriana Church for her impressive performance at the 2020 Gail Newby Piano Concerto Competition.
Celine Chen took 2nd place in the Gail Newby Concerto Competition 2020, Piano, with her stirring rendition of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2.
Congratulations to the winners in this weekend's Gail Newby Concerto Competitions - Piano and Instrumental. We enjoyed a wonderful 2 days of music and hope to see some of you back next year.
