Hi! We are still accepting applications for our upcoming Guitar Art Auction for ArtReach! We are seeking 30 talented artists to transform a guitar into a playable piece of art. All 30 guitars vary in model, type, and size, making each artist’s final design even more unique. Submit your designs to be considered by March 1st through our online application: artreachsandiego.org/guitar-application. Artists will receive 25% of sales. It has been a big week for the #artreachmuralprogram! We have been over the moon to have Liesel Plambeck as the lead mural artist for our newest project at John J Montgomery Elementary in Chula Vista. Check out some progress pictures from this mural! Painting a mural truly takes many hands working together and we have had so many people help on this one starting with our first Staff Paint Day of 2021. Thank you to all of the wonderful John J. Montgomery Elementary School s...taff and teachers who helped us get the first marks of color on this 40 foot wall. Hello to everyone on this Monday! Check out this fun student ZINES coming in from El Cajon Valley High School students from our live #distancelearning classes. Our zine project lined right up with San Diego Zine Fest and the students were inspired and encouraged by all the artists creating zines out there. This is a simple project to do with any age group because you only need one single piece of paper. After an easy step by step folding technique, this project opens itself up to allow for a lot of creative freedom. Students can choose any subject matter or illustration style that they want.
