Artofmontessori.org The Montessori Guide... Miss Rachel walks along side our toddlers, guiding, encouraging and helping the child do it for themselves. Absolute perfection thanks to Maria Montessori. #montessori150 #montessoritoddler #ams #elkgroveca #elkgrovepreschool

Artofmontessori.org Our cleaning practices involve kids taking care of their friends and the materials. They love adding a sparkly star on jobs they completed to warn their friends to wait until it is cleaned for the next use

Our art studio is used to support both Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. Projects are both guided by teachers and based on our monthly themes as part of our Montessori Curriculum and some projects are created by the children, and the teacher is there to observe, research, and deepen their learning experience. In full Reggio style, our studio has shelves teaming with music, art, dramatic play, ramps and pathways and tons of loose parts! You can anticipate lots of exuberant and messy play as children imagine, invent, sculpt, paint, glue, build and excavate! Our task, regarding creativity, is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more. Loris Malaguzzi, Founder of Reggio Emilia.

We believe that children learn best when caring teachers create an emotionally safe and inviting environment that is full of wonder and beauty, and where collaboration and community are nurtured in the classrooms with the three year old to six year old age grouping. The magic of this community becomes visible in our 3-hour morning work period. During this time, you will find students peeling vegetables for lunch, learning to weave, sew on buttons, and use a screwdriver. They explore their senses, build words, create stories, discover patterns, and develop math skills by adding golden beads in the thousands. And even still, the most important thing the children are doing is constructing themselves into the people they are designed to be, loving, compassionate and curious. We welcome you into our community!

In our Toddler classroom you will find a clean and well-planned classroom with an abundance of natural light streaming in from the surrounding windows. We have designed this space with warmth and care to foster independence, creativity, and joy. Our shelves are lined with gorgeous Montessori Materials, an abundance of loose-parts for natural play and exploration, music instruments, art materials, and more. This is only the beginning of the exciting education your child will take part in!

We love the outdoors! Spending quality time in nature play underpins all that we do at Art of Montessori. Our children thrive academically and strengthening self-esteem and confidence, curiosity and innovation are the foundations that all else is built upon. We know from 20 years of guiding children in the Elk Grove community that this sets them up for both immediate and long-term success in schooling, as children with positive feelings about their learning environment tend ...to be better prepared for higher education. Outdoor play is one of our keystones here at Art of Montessori. We have nearly an acer of garden designed to meet children's need for imaginative play, gross motor development, safe risk taking and imagination. The expanse of our playground is a vital outlet for children’s exuberant energy, and also allows children to calm their minds, and further develop their connection with creation. See more
