The Arabic Language & Culture Club at UCI 18.09.2021

Deadline has been extended to May 13th!!!! Have you ever google image searched the word Arab? How are Arabs and Arabic culture portrayed in the media? This project asks students to reflect on how Arabs are currently portrayed and how they would like to change that perception. The flier competition allows students to share their perceptions and viewpoints with others. The competition is open to ALL UCI students. Prizes included two $25 gift certificates

Hey everyone! The Arabic Language and Culture club is having their first fundraiser at the Blaze pizza in UTC on Wednesday, February 20th from 12pm to 8pm. We would greatly appreciate your support in our mission to promote the awareness and understanding of the Arabic language and culture. All proceeds from the event will go towards holding future community events and activities! Make sure to show this flyer, or say you’re supporting the UCI Arabic Club to have 50% of your meals proceeds go towards the club!

Peace and Greetings! During the month of Ramadan, the streets of Egypt are lighted with decorative lanterns called fanoos. Join us for a workshop to create your own festive lanterns while enjoying Egyptian drinks and other refreshments. Our guests will talk about the history of Lanterns as well as share some special Ramadan memories related to fanoos. We had a fabulous past two days at the workshop! It was packed and everyone was enjoying the "art therapy" as one attendee put it. The Arabic Language & Culture Club at UCI 01.09.2020

Peace and Greetings! For the Arabic Calligraphy Workshop, you are permitted to park in Parking Lot 7 AFTER 5PM with a standard $10 permit. You are only allowed to park in stalls marked AR that are not 24 hours enforced. Also, you are not allowed to park in the ICA stalls. Parking Lot 7 is very close to both buildings for both events.... You will need to purchase a normal parking permit in the Mesa Parking Structure located on Mesa Road, Irvine CA 92617. You may purchase a permit on the lower entrance of the car-park structure. Attendees with handicap placards DO NOT need to purchase a permit. Your placards will suffice. Lot 7 is also located on Mesa Rd past the traffic lights, up the hill. Please see map attached. We look forward to seeing you tonight at the Traveling Reed Pen Events! Workshop: Located in HH251 on level 2 in building #601 on the campus map. Please see map attached. The door to enter HH251 is to the right of the vending machines if you are facing the building and it is just after the Humanities Studio on the Left.
