MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! Many have been asking to arrange a get together for family, friends and area real estate contacts of Alison Lewin, and what better day to do that than on May 15th, Alison's birthday. The Vu Lounge in Newhall has been kind enough to give us their facility that Friday for a 5-9pm happy hour. There will be appetizers, live music, and a cash bar to help put the work week behind us. We have combined all of what Alison enjoyed, a party, a gathering of friends, dancing to the oldies, and real estate networking. We hope to see you there!!!

It is with bittersweet emotions that we announce the end of the Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund. While we are sad to see this chapter end, it is heartwarming to know that even after Alison's' passing she was able to help many people realize the American dream of home ownership. It was especially fitting that the final grant was issued to Alison's daughter Samantha, who purchased her first home in Valencia. Thanks so much to all of the realtors in the Santa Clarita Valley who located homebuyers to qualify for our grants, and to the many real estate individuals and businesses who supported this cause with their donations.

A special thanks to Dianne Keefe-Bonneell at Pathway Escrow and the Santa Clarita Valley Escrow Association for their continued support to help us get our bank balance back over $1,000 to issue our next grant.

FYI, the stone setting ceremony for Alison Lewin will be Sunday July, 27th at 3pm at Mount Sinai Memorial Park. After the ceremony, family and friends will gather for an early dinner at Jerry's Deli in Encino. Please post if you plan to attend so that we will have an approximate head count. Thanks!

Just to give you an update on our progress, to date donations totaling $2,875.00 have been received and deposited into the account of the Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund. We expect those deposits to clear our bank later this week, and hope to accept our first $1,000 grant requests in about a week. Now that we have our non-profit status and are just days away from beginning to help people purchase their first home in the Santa Clarita area, we are hoping to see more donations made to this great cause. Please help us get the word out to local business people in the Santa Clarita Valley area. Checks should be made payable to the Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund and sent to 11847 Gorham Avenue, Suite 120, Los Angeles CA 90049.

VERY VERY EXCITING NEWS THIS MORNING!!! The Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund has been accepted by the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California as a Non-Profit entity, which means that all donations made will be allowed a tax deduction. We will be setting up the bank accounts this week to allow us to deposit the generous donations made to date, and will be commencing a campaign to encourage more people and businesses to support this wonderful cause. The Facebook page dedicated to announce the activities of The Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund has been created and we hope you will "Like" this page to keep up with its progress. The fund is accepting checks made payable to The Alison Lewin First-Time Homebuyers Fund and those checks should be sent c/o Marc Pollock, 11847 Gorham Avenue, Suite 120, Los Angeles CA 90049. We are working to secure a partnership with a non-profit organization so that donors can receive tax benefits from their donations. Stay tuned for updates on donations, and the announcement when the grant side is open for business.
