"The only thing that was ever wrong with me was my belief that there was something wrong with me. I quit spending my life trying to control myself and began to ...trust myself." ~ Glennon Doyle, author of "Untamed" www.momastery.com Art by Andrea Kowch www.andreakowch.com

Easy isn’t better than hard. Happy isn’t superior to sad. Productive isn’t greater than idle. May I embrace the hard, the sad, the idle moments and not discriminate against them - they get to be here, too.

"In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst ...of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger something better, pushing right back." ~Albert Camus French-Algerian philosopher, author, and journalist

What do you need today?

I remember the first time I shifted from self-criticism to I’m struggling when I looked around my home and saw how messy things were. It’s a profound shift, because as long as we’re criticizing ourselves for the ways our struggling manifests, we aren’t being there for ourselves with compassion. And when we’re struggling, what we need most is compassion.

Taking deeper breaths with my hand on my heart throughout the day, connecting with loved ones, staying present, and remembering what’s true. Love you, friends.
