CALLING BIPOC ACTORS! Read below for the message from Cast Director: Application: https://forms.gle/NDZ9NQ6bmotg82B98 Ghost Box seeks actors for an online outdoor production of The Tempest with an all-BIPOC cast. This is a non-union non-paying opportunity. Audience donations will be distributed among the company after the show closes.... Each actor will stream their performance from a separate outdoor space convenient to their individual location. Each actor must have access to a phone and a network capable of live-streaming video. Actors will be responsible for their own costumes and props. Rehearsals will begin March 20. We will meet once a week from 2-5pm ET on Saturdays. We hope to call each actor for three rehearsals a month. Tech weekend will be July 24 & 25. All actors are required to attend these rehearsals. Live performances will take place at 5pm ET on July 30, 31, August 6 and 7. Auditions will be scheduled in ten minute slots over Zoom. Please prepare a one-minute monologue from a Shakespeare play. During the audition you may be asked to repeat the monologue, or read one of the sides we will send with your appointment confirmation. Good luck! https://forms.gle/NDZ9NQ6bmotg82B98

Not a fan of Christopher Columbus? You're not alone. Lead and challenge your city or your state representatives to dump Columbus Day in favor of Indigenous People's Day. We're all in this together #IndigenousPeoplesDay #AbolishColumbusDay

It's National #GrandparentsDay! Use this time to acknowledge the Grandparents in your world This can also be a good start to a conversation about the many different ways families are formed and care for one another, and the proper policies and practices to recognize them. #TakeAGrandie #DoSomethingGrand #theatre
Happy #NationalActorsDay! The top photo is from our powerful play from the 2018-2019 season, "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow is Enuf' directed by Elizabeth Carter. The bottom photo is from our 2019 play, "Black Eagles" directed by L. Peter Callender. This day is celebrated to honor all the #actors that entertain us, educate us, and share their passion for acting with us! Celebrate by discussing your favorite actors, thanking each other, and supporting your local theatre company! #ActorsDay
We hope everyone had a relaxing and restful #LaborDay! Hopefully it wasn't too #laborious We also hope no one is being heavily affected by these extreme breaking temperatures and fires. Make sure to follow our Instagram @aa_shakes & stay tuned for some upcoming mad posts!
We are very grateful we have been granted these funds along with many other outstanding art organizations. Please continue supporting the arts!! <3
We Love Memoirs Day was created in 2013 by two memoir authors, Victoria Twead and Alan Parks. A #memoir is different from an autobiography in that an autobiography may cover an individual's whole life, but a memoir has a narrower focus and covers a significant moment in a person's life. Playbill published an article with a list of wonderful theatre memoirs we also recommend. Comment your memoir recommendation! #welovememoirsday https://www.playbill.com//45-books-from-2019-for-theatrelo
