You all showed up in the frigid temps to drop off your toys for the children at the Bakersfield Homeless Center. Merry Christmas, and thank you for your generosity!

In partnership with JJ's Legacy, Dignity Health is proud to honor Chantal Yvette Martinez-Murray as the 2021 Legacy of Humankindness Award recipient and Bakersfield's 2021 Donate Life Floragraph Honoree. In 2017, Chantal passed away, donating both of her kidneys, tissues, liver, lungs and heart. Chantal's gift of life impacts so many individuals and brings much peace to her family. We're humbled to be able to honor her legacy.

Each year Mercy & Memorial Hospitals hosts the Angel Baby Memorial Service to provide an opportunity for families who have lost pre-term babies, in one of our birth centers, to celebrate the life and loss of their little one. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the memorial service is being held virtually. Please take time to pause and reflect as you watch this service. If you would like to visit the cemetery on your own, Greenlawn Southwest is open this weekend and there are keepsake poems available at the Celebration of Life building.

The wind may have taken us by surprise, but that didn’t stop us from decorating our cars and cruising down Chester Avenue for CampIN Against Cancer. Thank you to all who came out last night to support the Kern County Cancer Fund!
