PROMOTION ANNOUNCEMENT Please help us congratulate David Orr on his promotion from Fire Engineer to Fire Captain. Captain Orr will be filling a vacant shift ass...ignment at Station 19. David has spent his entire career with the California City Fire Department. Starting as a Fire Explorer in 1996, he has served in multiple positions including Paid-Call Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, and Fire Engineer. David supervises the City’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and is a licensed paramedic. David graduated from Mojave High School and is a California City native. He currently lives with his wife, children, and dogs in the Santa Clarita Valley. Captain Orr has a vision for the Department that includes the following: My top priority will always be to provide the utmost professional, and highest level of, service to our community and surrounding areas. My most important goal is increasing the department’s visibility, interactions and outreach to the neighborhoods, residents and schools we serve. My outreach efforts will focus on fire safety/prevention and disaster preparedness education for children, youth, families and seniors. I will also foster the interest in, and knowledge of, the fire service profession among our youth by starting a Fire Explorer program. Mojave Desert News #CCFDpromotion
