Neil's Fitness 12.01.2021

The first steps always seem small and drawn out. Each pound, each mile. It never quite seems that substantial, until you look back after sticking with it for a while. At 17 years old (pictured left), a week feels like an eternity. And you expect years of results instantaneously. 13 years later and a long ways to go. But its good to look back and see where it all started. 5.5 weeks out(pictured right), and I’m not where I need to be, but we push a little bit more each day.

Leaving it all in the gym/kitchen! If it was easy- wouldn’t everyone be fit, strong, lean etc? Lets jump into the top intro questions I get during consultations to dispel some confusion 1) can I just train once or twice a week and completely change my body/strength with out changing anything else? Nope, Life style changes are necessary. One or two sessions alone won’t do much. 2) why do people seem tired that get ready for a show? You seem to be more tired Thats a giv...en if you’re training your ass off and dropping calories. Change comes from stimulus, not from coasting and being comfortable. 3) Can I still drink 1-2 glasses of wine every single night and get the body I want? No 4) Is there some pill I can take to drop a lot of fat? Yes. Its called the eat clean and train your butt off consistently pill. 5) I’m not going to get bulky if I train heavy? I’m a girl so I don’t want arms like yours. Not gonna happen, even if you tried. It’ll literally just improve your body composition and maybe add a few lbs of muscle over a long period of time. /Psa See more

8 weeks out to 5 weeks out; No coach likes doing rush preps, but @natbrown97 is a worker and due to certain circumstances, she really needed to make this date happen. Proud of you for your hard work- suffering is setting in but thats part of the game, final stretch!

2007 to today: Confused 17 year old just trying to find something I loved; To today, 13 weeks out, after establishing my career as a trainer/coach for the last decade and gaining laser focus. Ig shows the before and afters but you don’t ever see the steps behind the scene. Its easy to say just keep at it and you’ll get there. Thats far from truth. You have to be coachable- meaning you need to make mistakes and be able to tell yourself Okay, that didn’t work so how do I pro...gress from here? For the first 5 years of this 13 year journey, I always thought I was right. And my progress(or lack there of) showed that. The first half of my journey I thought I knew it all, the second half I asked to be taught from some of the top experts in the field. Part of the journey is just starting from scratch and building that foundation. 70lbs of beef between these two pics, and i’m just a bigger small fish, in a larger pond lol but thats how the game goes! We’ve transition from Board shorts, to Classic physique trunks, to the ole banana hammock *ahem bodybuilding trunks*. Time to step into new waters in 13 weeks. Grind never slows! See more
