As many are celebrating SuperBowl Sunday, we just want to give a shout out to our Open Rec youth members. Our Torch Club has created a great way to give back to those in need by involving our community in a one of a kind Soup-er Bowl canned food drive. All week long, families have been donating canned goods and non-perishable items into our donation boxes, casting their vote for who they think will win the SuperBowl today. Great job Torch Club! (Donations will be given to the VAFB Airman’s attic).

For 3-D printing club today our youth wanted to create a cartoon kitten. After learning how to use/operate the 3-D printer she printed her creation. 56 minutes later and she was very happy with the result! Enjoy the timelapse video and photos!

Good Afternoon! Our VAFB Youth Programs BGCA Torch Club youth have been diligently working on their community service project over the past few weeks. We are proud to present you with their: SOUP-ER BOWL Canned Food Drive! Created by our youth for our Vandenberg families, we invite you to donate a non-perishable item to our donation boxes at the Youth Center! Cast your vote (with your canned items) and vote for the NFL team you think will win the upcoming SuperBowl by placing... your items in one of two bins: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers or The Kansas City Chiefs. The concept for this food drive was created solely by our Torch Club youth, with advisor Ms. Arielle providing any assistance they may need and teaching them about Torch Club. Olivia L. created the wonderful flyer and poster board advertising the food drive. Tristan V. and other Torch Club members helped to create decor with our Cricut machine to add flair to our donation table. All youth helped to decide on the type of items to request and where to donate them. They will be donating the items to our Vandenberg Airman's Attic to help families in need. Come on by the Youth Center and show your support for a worthy cause and our Torch Club!

The VAFB Youth Programs Track season officially kicked off with the opening season meet on Saturday, 17 October. All teams & coaches were in attendance & parents were there to show support. Highlights from opening day: Mrs. Tamara Raffel shared opening statements and thanked everyone for coming and all of the coaches, athletes & families for joining the 2020 track season. ... Mrs. Verenice Yancey shared her dazzling vocals singing The National Anthem. Our Commander, Lt. Col. Bernardoni welcomed all of the athletes and their families to the kickoff of the track season with a heartwarming speech. Ms. Arielle Mahan shared updates on the Open Rec Program (it’s now re-open as of 5 Oct! Membership $15 a month) & the Falltacular October event Mrs. Elysha Perry shared information on the mini sports camps for Youth Programs All division heats kicked off with enthusiastic athletes and coaches & parents and volunteers cheered all of the youth on as they ran.
