Hi, We hope this finds everyone safe and well. It’s with some sadness and much excitement that we’re announcing a change of ownership for 10th Planet Burbank. Kim and Karen have decided to retire from owning a gym. We’re elated and heart warmed to announce that Jared Carlsten is the new owner of 10th Planet Burbank. We have known Jared for over a decade and consider him a life long friend and partner over these last number of years, and are more than confident that he wil...l continue to make 10th Planet Burbank an amazing place. Jared has partnered with Manny Mora and Josh Kubera to help run all facets of the business. They are currently working to reopen the gym due to the temporary closure from the pandemic, and will be making some announcements soon, so stay tuned! We wanted to give a quick update regarding the announcement last week from Los Angeles County allowing gyms to open back up under certain conditions. Unfortunately, the conditions state, Group exercise classes can only be offered if distancing requirements can be maintained and there is no person to-person physical contact. High contact programs that require close contact less than six feet in distance are not allowed. Therefore, we are not yet permitted to open. We are monitoring the county public health announcements daily, and are working from the county public health guidelines to ensure that we have the safest environment possible when we are permitted to open back up. We know some people are eager to start training again and appreciate your understanding and patience!

Hi! First, and most importantly, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and secure. On Saturday March 14, we temporarily closed the gym due to the coronavirus. We announced that there were no known cases of any of our clients falling ill, that we were closing out of an abundance of caution, and that we were targeting April 1st to open back up. Since then, the Mayor of Los Angeles and Governor of California have ordered certain business and schools to close, and for ...citizens to shelter in place for all non-essential activity. Since information is rapidly changing on a daily basis, we do not currently have a projected date as to when we’ll open back up. The beginning of May is the current target, but so much is dependent on how successful we are as a society at mitigating the pandemic. We have frozen everyone’s accounts so that tuition will not be charged. We are in the process of assessing when payments went through relative to when we closed so that we can make necessary adjustments. Our yearly Spring Test Camping Trip the weekend of April 24th has also been postponed. We are firmly on the side of being safe and smart when determining the best time to reopen. Here at 10th Planet Burbank and Blue Dragon Martial Arts, we have decided to follow the guidance of the California and Los Angeles Public Health Departments, as well as the Burbank Unified School District and California Governor, and close the gym for the remainder of March to do our part in helping to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Starting tomorrow, 3/15/20, we will be closed for all classes and programs until April 1st. There are no known cases of any of our cl...ients falling ill. We have rigorous daily procedures for disinfecting the gym, surfaces, and equipment. Our decision to close the gym is part of the larger community and statewide effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, and to protect the most vulnerable in our community.
