Sharing the joy of baby peeps
Our new Seven Oaks schoolmaster: Pistachio, a 16.1 hand Dutch warmblood gelding
Rancho Viejo in Portola Valley is looking for a training barn to join their existing business. The trainer(s) should have between 10 and 30 horses, be friendly and low-drama, and run a safe and sensible business. We've spoken to a lot of folks already, so here is what you need to know about us: (1) we feed hay cubes, a 60-40 mix of alfalfa and oat hay, (2) we have large stalls and some stall-paddocks with one horse per stall allowed, (3) we have a very large outdoor arena, with lights, that will belong primarily to the trainer moving in, (4) we have a covered arena, also with lights, that is shared with most of the training barns and (5) we have 200 acres of cattle pasture for trail riding. We prefer a hunter-jumper or western trainer, but we will talk to anyone. Call Pam at 650-738-2186 or email [email protected]
Our horses love Sopas
Our very first home-grown chick!!!!
Helen and Daria looking fantastic. Helen rode with us and was/is a great friend. She and Daria moved to Canada a few years ago. It's so wonderful to see their continued progress!
I repeat: every project needs chickens!
Every project needs chickens
As many of you know, Seven Oaks Farm has had a training barn for almost 30 years at Rancho Viejo in Portola Valley, CA. Obviously, we think it's a great place! Rancho Viejo is currently looking for a trainer, with at least 10 horses, to move in to a newly renovated barn. If you're interested, send a message on FB or call Pam at 415-860-2886.
One of the horses that your donations helped
Today's donations went to the Sonoma Community Animal Response team (Katherine says she's grateful) and to a 3rd veterinarian (we aren't sharing names of those) and a Facebook donation page...thanks to all of you!

An new added note: I created a PayPal link, it's in the comments and here: https://www.paypal.me/HorsesLightningFire Original post: There are some burned horses in need of meds, so we're going to do a fundraiser to help out. No specific goal, any amount will help. We'll make sure 100% of monies go towards horses in need...we can charge your credit card, put it on your invoice or do PayPal. Obviously, people need to come before horses, so allocate accordingly...
If you need to evacuate horses or other livestock anywhere in Northern/Central California, feel free to call Seven Oaks Farm at 415-298-1270 or 415-860-2886. If we can't help you ourselves, we'll try to get you in touch with someone who can.
Seven Oaks Farm in San Juan Bautista has two rigs ( large 2-horse trailers) and can help with evacuations in the Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito and Monterey counties. Call 415-298-1170 or 415-860-2886. We have a small amount if room for horses or other livestock, as well.
Jasper ...we miss him but we're happy he is so loved.
On our way back from NY...we're really excited to welcome another new horse to our barn!
We had an in-house dressage extravaganza (instead of our normal show). I was too busy to get pix of everyone, but Joe will have the rest of the participants on flickr soon.
