We usually have our business meetings on the first Tuesday of the month, but in November that's election day, so we will be meeting (virtually) on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Please make a note of it and we'll see you then!

Well folks, it's day 10 of 10 Days of Preparedness. What a better way to end Preparedness Month than with the shared image I just took of the current swarm of earthquakes hitting CA right now! Our final recommendation is to make sure you have the right places to get the right information about local emergencies. Here are some to save and have ready so that you know what's happening and if it's affecting your safety:... * AM station 1610 * CHP Incident webpage (hwy closures) * 951-506-5111 - City's pre-recorded info line * Channel 3/community Channel for Spectrums and Frontier * City website (homepage will have direct info on it) * Follow the City on social media pages Please remember that news can spread quickly about an event, but verified information will come from any one if these recommendations, so be sure to respond to accurate information vs misinformation.

Day 9 of 10 Days of Preparedness. It's late in the evening, but if you had an emergency right now and local phone lines were down do you have an out of state contact selected yet? Do you know if they would answer your call at this hour? Do your household members know that number by memory and possibly have coins to call from a payphone if you cell battery were dead? Make sure you have an out of area/out of state emergency contact, and that they know that is their role for you.

Day 8 of 10 Days of Preparedness. With all the planning this month and procurement of emergency supplies have you also taken into consideration the utilities needed to clean and cook with, to keep clean and cool, or warm with? Consider what you would do if there was no power, no gas to cook with or heat up with. How would you cook or boil water? How would you shower?... How would you communicate and keep your cell, laptop, radios working? See more
