In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all City facilities will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021. The holiday will not affect scheduled refuse and recycling collection or street sweeping.

#OCCOVID19 vaccinations at #Disneyland Resort are by APPOINTMENT ONLY through Othena.com. Those without an appropriate appointment and proper identification will be turned away. Showing up without an appointment stresses the system and depletes scarce resources.

The purpose of this program is to honor exceptional athletic accomplishments by individual athletes or sports teams in Yorba Linda, and outstanding contributions by athletic organizations serving Yorba Linda. Nominations are now being accepted through Friday, March 5, 2021 at 5:00 PM. Nomination forms may be completed online at yorbalindaca.gov/walloffame

As part of our ongoing response to the evolving COVID-19 (novel Coronavirus) situation and to ensure the health and safety of our community and staff, following the executive order from the Orange County Health Care Agency and the Regional Stay at Home Order to slow the transmission of COVID19 (novel Coronavirus), the Yorba Linda Parks and Recreation Department has indefinitely postponed the Mother Daughter Fairy Princess Tea and the Daddy Daughter Superhero Dance events. We look forward to resuming these events in the future when we can ensure those in attendance are fully satisfied and enjoy their experience.

Family ART Experience is a series of workshops designed for families to engage in art experiences and exploration together. Yorba Linda residents are invited to experience the new Yorba Linda Cultural Arts Center at Family ART Experience: Saturday, January 23. Families can sign up for 1-hour timeslots between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. At this month's workshop, families will explore abstract painting by creating geometric patterns using painter's tape and paint on canvas. The wo...rkshop will be held outdoors with social distancing measures in place and face coverings must be worn. Online pre-registration is required with Activity #17052 and is limited to four families per 1-hour timeslot. The City of Yorba Linda is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tommy Lasorda, former manager of the world series winning Los Angeles Dodgers from 1976 to... 1996, and a member of the baseball Hall of Fame. With his wife, Jo, the Lasorda family has long been connected to the Yorba Linda community. After the passing of their son, Thomas Lasorda Jr., they decided to build a recreation center in his memory. The Lasordas donated $500,000 raised through the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Foundation to the City of Yorba Linda to help build the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Field House, which opened in 1997. Since then, the Lasordas have continued their commitment to the community, including funding the initial and now annual Celebration of the Arts, the Senior Transportation program (T.R.A.I.L.S. bus), and investing in the ongoing maintenance of the Field House’s infrastructure. The generosity and support of the Lasorda family and the Thomas Lasorda Jr. Foundation has deeply enriched Yorba Linda, and our hearts to go out to Jo and the rest of the Lasorda family. See more
