"He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor." - Proverbs 22:9

Day Ten: The Glendora Methodist Church sponsored and staffed the shelter today. We made turkey noodle soup served with flat bread donated by Costo (thanks Denise for the bread) sweets and croissants. Helen and Kandy from the Methodist Church provided baked chicken, rice pilaf and vegetables, followed by an awesome white cake with jello topping. Thank you Helen and Kandy for the wonderful food and service in the kitchen. Pastor Robert lead us in prayer, reminding us that Jesus... said that we would encounter Him among the poor. And among the poor indeed we encounter Jesus. Our guests love talking to the volunteers, they want someone to befriend them and share their story with, as the days of the shelter number, you get to know their names, they share a joke with you or just a smile, they become equals in our life but for a short time. Please keep supporting us through prayer. See more

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the LORD" (Luke 2:11). Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family!

Day Seven: Today the good Lord graced us in the kitchen with the good people of Simplicity Bank in Pasadena. Today's soup was ministroni with sausage and meatballs, donated by our good friend Deacon Dominic. The lasagna was prepared by Helena Timko, Laura and staff from Simplicity Bank. As we do our last minute Christmas shopping, please stop and pray for our guests that have nowhere to go except for our shelter. For now our shelter is their home and sanctuary. We wish all our volunteers a very Merry Christmas. God bless you and your families.
