Inspired by Old Tyme Radio Show formats, the Stories o...n Stage, PlayLab, Advanced PLAY!, Page to Stage & WEST Ensemble Player classes quickly converted to audio recordings enhanced with music and sound effects. What’s next MORE FUN! For anyone interested in Santa Cruz history, or the history of the Broadway Playhouse - it all started with this art installation - a closed curtain in front of the Last Supper wax figures. The Broadway Playhouse is still around and so are the figurines around and can be viewed once a year or by special arrangement. That once a year is this Thursday (Maundy Thursday) which (if you were raised Catholic) is the eve to the holiest day of the year.

WEST has partnered with PVUSD Family Literacy to pilot LA VOZ DEL INMIGRANTE (The voice of the Immigrant). Visual art, storytelling and writing classes chronicled the stories of the Watsonville migrant community. We created a book capturing their journey and finally the stories were transformed into a theatre piece - which has been moved to the Mello Center this Friday at 7:30 to reach more people. Hope some of you can join us. The play is primarily in Spanish and is free. Honored to have Teatro Campesino actors participating.
