At 6:07pm, yesterday evening, we responded to a commercial structure fire at an unoccupied building, formally known as Marino’s Café on Nugget Lane. Firefighters arrived to find the building fully involved. Mutual-aid assistance was provided by Cal Fire, Douglas City Vol Fire Dept, and Junction City Vol. Fire Department. The building is part of a small strip mall. A quick response and knockdown resulted in only minimal damage to the adjoining businesses. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Our hearts go out to the family that lost their home to a structure fire here in Junction City Wednesday night. We hope our community will wrap around and suppo...rt you during your time of need. Junction City VFD would also like to extend big thanks to Weaverville Fire, Douglas City Fire and Cal-Fire for your quick response to our requests for mutual aid. Long hours and hard work in frigid temperatures were required by all to put this fire out. Many thanks to Chagdud Gonpa for making their hydrant available for Firefighting efforts in our community. Their hydrant serves as an invaluable resource in getting water to these fires faster. We appreciate you all very much! See more
