Larry Damitz Late Model Memorial To Pay $3000 to Win, $300 to Start A special $3,000 to win Late Model Division memorial race honoring Larry Damitz will take place on May 13 at Antioch Speedway. Damitz, an icon in California racing, passed away in January at the age of 87. Damitz’s 64-year career, begun at now defunct Vallejo Speedway, and included many wins and championships. He was most recently the 2016 Limited Late Model division champion at Antioch Speedway, his home ...track in recent years. Larry enjoyed racing at Antioch Speedway, says friend and Late Model driver Paul Guglielmoni. He had many friends there and loved racing side by side with them. The race purse was increased by promoter John Soares and augmented by sponsorship from Paul and Betty Guglielmoni’s Vaca Valley Excavating and Trucking and by the Matt Micheli family. The race will pay $300 to start and $3000 to win. Entry fee will be $50 for car and driver. Henner Truck Lines of Vacaville has put up $200 for a dash race. There will also be contingency prizes. The race is open to any and all late models in the West, adds Guglielmoni. We are hoping to build on this first race, and have more special shows for the Late Model Division in Larry’s honor. The race will be part of the Saturday night, May 13 program at Antioch Speedway. The speedway is located in the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds in Antioch, Calif. For further information and questions on the race, contact Paul Guglielmoni at Vaca Valley Excavating and Trucking 707-249-7049. See more
Our Workers Make the Company: VVEXC is not trucks and excavating equipment - it is a company made up of skilled dedicated workers. Here are a few pictures of our people at work in 2016.

Nearly two years and more than 2,000 yards of concrete later, the Vaca Valley Excavating concrete team is proud of its work at the stunning new Davis Estate Winery. Take a photo tour of majestic complex - easily spotted from the Silverado Trail: We paved the parking lots and driveways with blacktop, leading up to beautiful gravel-pave system we installed - enhancing the area around the buildings. Our cast-in-place walls hold the hillside around the lots and buildings.... A difficult undertaking with pleasing results was our installing a new concrete floor under a historic barn on site. The barn is now a relaxing setting for sips of wine amidst antique tractors and historic decor. Our concrete steps and landings twist to the upstairs kitchen in the main building. A wrap around deck features exterior decorative concrete. The spectacular view from the screened in front room of the building has suspended couches, with two-tone brown stained concrete that has been sealed for longevity. The front room looks down upon the Kugel Ball, floating upon a stream of water on top of a marble grape leave. We poured the surrounding concrete and made the circular pit. Opposite the Kugel ball is the chandelier adorned entrance to the wine caves. VVEXC poured the concrete floors within the massive caves leading to an exclusive temperature controlled, glass encased wine tasting room. Two prroduction rooms with drained concrete floors have tanks for white and red wine, each tank sitting on our concrete tank support walls. VVEXC is proud for completing all of the structural concrete for Davis Estate Winery, incuding the surrounding agricultural buildings.
Work is coming to near completition as our crews finished 1500' of frontage road widening last week at the Allied Fuel Deot in Napa. A tour of the grounds shows VVEXC's concrete and paving, along with decorative rocks we delivered and placed. The fuel depot will be for cars, trucks and electric vehicles. It will feature a Circle K store.
