The first time I met Eddy Lepp was in Sacramento on the steps of the capital. He was giving a speech about how he was growing cannabis on the side of the highwa...y for patients in need. Unfortunately, Eddy’s Medicinal Gardens the famous Lake County, California site where Eddy oversaw the planting and growing of more than 32,524 medicinal cannabis plants for the thousands of members no longer exist. Eddy ended up being sentenced to federal prison in 2008 for conspiracy to manufacture marijuana, as well as conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, and served 8.5 years of a 10 year sentence the absolute minimum of time required, and no fines as the judge presiding over the case saw the injustice of his original charges. He was finally released in 2016. Me and many others sat in federal court many times to provide support for him. He is a legend. Pushed the limits in order to provide safe access to cannabis. Put his freedom on the line for others and paid the price with prison time. A Vietnam Vet, cultivator, author, poet, and artist born in 1952. He helped pass prop 215, California's original medical marijuana bill, and deserves to be recognized as a pioneer of the medical marijuana movement. Unfortunately Eddie is in the hospital right now with cancer fighting for his life. He needs our help, if you can give anything. It's important to take care of our elders who fought and sacrificed for us all. PLEASE DONATE HERE paypal.me/ogeddylepp On top of that, we now have a sacred collective duty to pick up and carry the torch of legalization and make sure all nonviolent marijuana offenders are set free, in honor of Dennis Peron, Jack Herer, and Eddy. #pioneersofthemovement
