The first round for applications for the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant closed just before midnight Wednesday, with over 300,000 completed subm...issions in less than two weeks. Businesses will be notified via email and text message between Jan. 15 and Jan. 22 if they have been approved for funding. Applicants who are not awarded grants in Round 1 will automatically be moved to Round 2. We are aware many people encountered website glitches on Lendistry's application for the grant. Lendistry will be addressing those issues in the coming weeks in preparation for the opening of Round 2 on Feb. 2. Applications for Round 2 will be accepted from 8 am Feb. 2 through 6 pm Feb. 8. As part of our report on Covid-19 and the Economic Impact on Solano's Economy, this graph shows three pieces of information: in grey, the loss of employment at ...the considered peak of job loss, April of 2020 (other than in the Government sector that peaked in July); in blue the recovery of jobs through September; and orange, employment change during the last recorded month. It is clear to see in this graph that areas recovery have primarily been in Government, as public schools start to reopen, Leisure & Hospitality with the reopening of restaurants and greater flexibility of food service, Trade, Transportation & Utilities, with the opening of non-essential retail, and construction, that has actually surpassed pre-Covid-19 numbers.
