EAT UP, Dons! A few weeks ago, the #USFDons men's soccer team spent some time with Brian Boitano cooking up a healthy and hearty dinner. Check out some of the scenes from the kitchen! [And a big thanks to USF women's golfer Emily Laskin for her creative services in producing this video!]

Listen and Learn. Without a doubt a vital component of what we do as an AT. Unfortunately, we sometimes get so caught up with discussing the things we know and telling our patients what to do next that we don’t take(or have) the time to do the things that we did as students. If we take the time to listen and learn, we have the opportunity to absorb the most current evidence based information that the scholars of our profession have taken the time to uncover. Tell us about SPARTA. SpartaTrac is an athlete performance program that is the brainchild of Dr. Phil Wagner, founder of Sparta Performance Science, and serves as a centralized data collection hub. Key athletic performance factors (workouts, injury reports, goal setting, sleep, nutrition, are logged and monitored to ensure our athletes are optimizing day-to-day recovery, or Regen, as it is known in SPARTA. Over spring break this year, the USF Women's Soccer team had the privilege of playing some of the top teams in Spain including top ranked FC Barcelona, Levant e, and Espanyol. This trip was an opportunity for our girls to gain International playing experience. Not only did we get to train and play against some great teams but we also had the ability to travel around the city and take in the sites and culture. Had a great time with Dr. Senter this weekend at the 8th Annual Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Conference over at UCSF Medical Center.

Take home points from the afternoon session at UCSF Sports Medicine - Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Conference: - Children are not small adults, and training them as such is causing a huge increase in children presenting with adult-type injuries. - Single sport specialization is NOT worth it. Focus on developing active lifestyles, not developing skills.... - UCSF Medical Center has great medical faculty.
