USA Academy of Aviation, Inc. and The World Record Helicopter Team is proud to announce that on September 19th, 2011 we set a new helicopter world speed record by flying from Brown Field, San Diego, California to Savannah Hilton Head, Savannah, Georgia and back in total elapsed time of 58 hours and 23 minutes and 14 seconds in the Robinson R44 Raven II. NAA and FAI approval is pending for the participating pilots CFI Johan Nurmi, Commercial Pilot Jerry Peck, Commercial Pilot Travis Reid, and Private Pilot Miguel Krishnan.
