Thanks to a grant from The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF), this fall, apprentices in our Learning by Leading Sustainable Horticulture program, will begin planting a low-to-zero water demonstration garden in the west end of the Arboretum, along Garrod Drive. Mimulus 'Fiesta Marigold' (Jelly Bean Series) Large ruffled blooms of rich red, edged with gold, heat up the garden spring through fall. Shrub, semi-evergreen, 2 feet tall and as wide with narrow glossy dark green leaves. Water deeply every 2 weeks. Well-drained soil. Attractive to bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Deer resistant.
