There is a lot to be thankful for here in the Eastern Sierra! Among them, the amazing fishing opportunities in the fall. @scfish00 gets it done in a "good luck" TopBug lid! #getoutdoors #395 #mammothstories #flyfishing #thanksgiving #guidelife #nooffseason #dryfly

We've been getting a lot of inquiries about this. Here is how it went down in Brendan's own words: Got invited to fish for steelhead on the Oregon coast with a friend and it happened to be my 30th birthday weekend. Perfect way to celebrate getting old. The first two days of the trip we floated different stretches of the lower river and despite seemingly awesome conditions we had only hooked a few small cutthroat, no steelhead. The last day of the trip we decided to go up hi...gher in the drainage. The first spot we stopped to fish had an awesome looking bucket within easy casting distance from shore. I drifted an ugly hometie on the near side of the submerged rock, got a nice slow drift, but nothing. The second drift made its way down the opposite side of the boulder, swung around and parked itself in the slow resting water downstream from the boulder. Still nothing. But as my drift ended and the line went tight the indicator disappeared so I did a big strip set and it was game on. It was a moment on the river I'll never forget, and by far my biggest steelhead to date. #theperfectmoment #steelhead #getoutdoors #hometie #perserverance #mammothstories #pnw See more

With the arrival of Fall, it was time to enjoy the last of the warmer weather and take a little walk into our local Shangri La and chase one of the prettiest species of trout on the planet. Typically, it's always a long walk sucking wind, but the Sierra's, in one way or another, always reward those who put in the effort.
