Went 8 for 12 today, keeping these 5 kings for dinner. Not as many fish as Sunday but big fish was an inch bigger at 20 inches. Same areas and depths as Sunday, same lures too. They're caughing up pond smelt so match the hatch!

Bill Ott of 4Fins downrigger weights and Rich Bernoudy AKA GVF lures, joined us for ripping good day on Folsom Lake Sunday. 13 of the 14 fish landed, came on GVF lures in various shapes and colors. The 4Fins weights tracked straight and true at both low and high trolling speeds. Big fish if the day was just under 19 inches and we landed 2 double hook ups. What a hoot, can't wait to do it again!

What a way to start the year! The Steelhead wouldn't cooperate on the American on new years day( it was the season opener and a little crowded) so we decided to go check out or home pond(Folsom) and see if we could find some biters. The lake is low at this time of year so we launched out on the moon(granite bay) and slow trolled our way up the north fork. We tried to hang up our Four Fins downrigger weights on the bottom twice( fortunately we got em loose) but decided to sta...y in the center of the river channel and marked fish all the way up to the SS Relief before we scored our first king. She hit a GVF glow/purple tinsel hoochie down at 50 ft. We orbited the floating outhouse a couple of times and scored our token Rainbow on a toplined crawler behind a gold star purple/glow watermelon sideckick dodger. The other two kings fell prey to our old favorite, the GVF Pina Colada spin bug behind the nickle glow crush dodger running down at 50 ft. Big fish of the day was only 17 inches, but a ton of fun none the less! See more

One so far, right off the dock, didn't get all the rods in the water!. Skunks off ! Woo hoo!

It's that time of year again gang! The fishing isn't stellar, but we're getting one or two per trip, so it's still worth the boat ride!

Pretty good day on Folsom so far. Couple of really good ones, and 6 smaller ones.

Folsom, a year and 1 day apart. Weather was definitely better this year!
