#happyinternationalwomensday Did you know women in agriculture produce more than 50% of the world’s food, and are responsible for some 60% to 80% of food production in developing countries? If women did have the same access to resources as men, estimates show that food production would increase by 20-30 percent, which would reduce the number of hungry people in the world by 100 to 150 million. I’m proud to be a PCA, Soil Consultant, and AgVocate in both California + Michigan farming. Where are all my other women in agriculture at?

I get asked a lot by kids what my Agricultural PCA license is. So what is an PCA (pest control advisor)? A PCA is someone that is like a doctor but for plants and part of their job is to write chemical prescriptions (we call it recommendations) for farmers to help their crops reach their full potential. You’ll find us in the field during bloom checking on the progress of this year’s crop.
