This sunroom addition is the perfect place for enjoying a summer day without the heat.
As the weather heats up again, backyard retreats are definitely on my mind. They are so adaptable to your space and needs. Whether you have a green thumb, want a place to make s'mores with the kids, or just a small corner to enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine on the weekend, there are so many ways to create a comfortable exterior space.
Not every design requires you to gut your home. This kitchen fit the home well, so it just needed a few alterations. We got rid of an upper cabinet that was blocking off the room, then added new counters, floors, and backsplash. It changed the whole feeling of the room but didn't require the client to purchase all new cabinets or appliances.
We're trying something a little different this month. Our normal mood boards will be showcased on Fridays, and our #MondayMoodBoards will be in a different format than the flat lays. This room was designed around that stunning ceiling light, leaning a bit more into glam than normal. I thought it would be a fun front room or library. Let me know what you think of this design by leaving a comment below!
When my daughter was away at college, she would regularly purchase flowers for her dorm or apartment. Her roommates loved seeing the roses, dahlias, or lilacs that she purchased. More than that, they were stunned when they realized they felt better when they came back from classes to bright colors and soft scents. Whether you choose real or fake, adding some bright flowers to your home will do wonders for your mood, particularly in these grey, winter months. The arrangement here is pretty simple, but it adds a bit of sunshine to the space. Leave a #comment and let me know how you brighten your space for the winter!
Sometimes the most special places in a home are the most overlooked. This bench seat in the kitchen was overlooked and uncomfortable. The tile on the seat was ugly and definitely not inviting. Instead of spending a bunch of money removing it, we covered it with some comfy cushions, added an artistic light, and created the perfect reading nook for rainy days.
Happy #MoodBoardMonday! I decided to have some fun this month and play with the color yellow. This shade is pretty bright, but works well with the bol patterned fabric, warm wood, and white or navy leather. I just had to add that fun patterned tile and a grey wood stain to settle things a bit.
White kitchens don't have to be boring. Keeping the cabinets white allows you to play with other colors and add your own pizzaz to the space. Bold backsplashes, black appliances, and elegant lighting turn this room from functional to beautiful.
