Basic Info about me and my service: I AM NOT an attorney; therefore, please do not refer to me as such. I am a paralegal with a license to accept my own document preparation cases in the State of California and California ONLY. I am not familiar and am not allowed to respond to questions regarding the practice or procedures of any other states other than California. I only do family law related cases such as divorce, legal separation, paternity, custody, child support, spou...sal support, Request for Ordersetc. While I may have experiences and knowledge in other fields, I have not been accepting cases in fields other than family law. As such, I may not have the most current information and procedures to those fields; therefore, I may not be the best source to obtain information other than California family law. I used to not charge for answering questions. However, due to numerous incidents where people would abuse my courtesy, I will start giving free information only on a case-by-case situation. I will no longer review any documents prepared by anyone other than myself for free, for anyone (unless I specifically agreed to do so). Again, due to situations where people would abuse and take advantage of my leniency, I am forced to start charging for reviewing documents based on the complexity and/or the amount of documents I would have to review. My contact days and hours are from: Monday Friday, 10:00 am 4:00 pm, except court holidays. PLEASE DO NOT contact me, message me, call me, text me, email me or any form of communication outside of those hours unless we have a prior agreement for you to do so; even if you do not need me to respond to you right away. Anyone sending me questions outside of my contact hours will not have those questions answered by me. NO EXCUSES. NO EXCEPTIONS. I am sorry that I have to set up these rather stringent new rules, but when you try to be nice and lenient, there are always some people who want to push your limits. This is the result of people testing my patience and pushing my limits for the past 7 years, and with all the craziness going on, I am no longer in any mood to deal with anymore shenanigans.

I am going to start limiting the things I do for free now. Too many people are taking advantage of me trying to do a good thing, they don't respect my hours, they do not respect my time. They don't seem to care that I have bills to pay too, and I have a family that I owe responsibilities to. As of now, I am still answering questions for free, but on a case by case basis. If I feel that you are just wasting my time and want to vent or chit chat, then I wills start charging. Effective immediately, I do not review ANY DOCUMENTS or work prepared by others for free anymore. Sorry it has to come to this, but people are people, there are just those bad apples out there that would ruin the whole thing for others.

Lately I've been noticing 1. my computer and smart TV kept getting kicked off of internet or takes a long time to load, 2. my cell phone takes excruciating long time to load, 3. I have been losing my ability to remember things in a very alarming rate. Then I started to notice that my computer and TV gets long loading time and/or gets kicked off the internet when I am using my iphone to access apps like Facebook and Safari. I experimented and monitored this for several days an...d found a definite connection between the problems. Yesterday, I turn off the phone completely the whole night and had no problems with my computer and TV's loading time. I've also had a "clearer" mind last night and no nightmares. I don't know what Apple is doing with their Iphones, but this is very alarming. As such, I will be powering off my iphone completely most of the time and I am planning to get an old, pre-paid, flip phone that has no internet access. If many people out there are experiencing the same thing, then perhaps a more serious investigation needs to be done into this issue. If anyone needs to reach me, please reach me through FB Messenger. I will check my computer periodically. AGAIN, I will be powering off my cell phone most of the time now. Text messages and calls are no longer a good way to reach me. If you are referring new people to contact me, please let them know to either email me or send me a message on FB. Thank you all in advance. And please check to see if you have the same problems as described above. Stay safe and healthy. See more

I would like to talk briefly about the importance of timing in a legal matter today. ... I’ve mentioned before, that law is actually a form of art and not an exact science. Depending on the person handling the case, the when, what and how something is done may yield VERY different results in a cases that are similar in nature. For example, in a typical family law matter, usually assets and debts are heavily disputed. For a person who knows when to use different elements to limit the opposing party’s options, you can usually pressure the other party into agreeing to settle. When you get the other party to agree to settle, time is of the essence, and you want to try to lock-in that deal (of course, the terms has to be favorable to you) as soon as you can. Because to litigate matter like this, you are looking to spend a lot of money on litigation fees and costs and the result you get usually are not as good as a settlement would get you. So, when settlement is on the table with terms that are agreeably favorable to you, TAKE IT!! discoveries Another example is the timing on when and how to use discoveries as ways to pressure the opposing party to settle. Some attorneys don’t like to spend time on discoveries. But these are actually great tools to find out the other party’s very sensitive information such as income, assets (especially when there are hidden assets), or questionable money transactions. When used in an articulate manner, these are great tools to force a settlement out of the other party.

Got quite a few inquiries regarding people having problems with their attorney’s work progress and about them not doing their job timely. ... Actually, situation differs in terms of it not progressing... Some times it may be a good thing, some time it is not. Depending on the specific situation. Good reason may be: 1. 1. Your attorney is doing it as a strategy. When the other party is rushing to get a divorce or need to get money from you urgently, you staying put and do things slow, might be the key you need to force the other party to settle with you and settle under terms that are more favorable to you. Because you don’t need what they need, that gives you more room to negotiate, and forcing the other party to play the waiting game frustrates them to the point that they would be more readily to give up to your terms. 2. 2. The attorney may be trying to save money for you. Generally every second an attorney spend on your case they can charge you. A good hearted attorney only pick the necessary things to do either to benefit you or to protect you. This might some time be misunderstood as the attorney not being active or aggressive enough... but, on the other side of that, is you have to pay them for doing things that might not be beneficial to you just to appear they are doing their job... Bad reason may be: 1. 1. The attorney really does not care about your case. They don’t want to or don’t know how to explain things to you, and they are only interested in attending to clients that pays them more money. 2. 2. The attorney may be inexperienced and don’t really know what to do next. 3. 3. The attorney does not have the will to fight. All they really want is to just settle the matter and get paid quickly. The important thing is to keep a good communication bridge with your attorney, BUT, do not simply just take their words on face value. Your matter is MOST IMPORTANT TO YOURSELF. But, because of that, you might misread the situation and thinks that your attorney doesn’t care about your situation... It really depends on the specific people involved in their specific situation. One thing to take away from this article: Always keep a good communication with your attorney, and carefully evaluate what they are doing and what they are saying to you. Do your best to understand the situation.
