My company has helped numerous artists in the music industry not only through music production but also through actually helping them organize their royalties and go after people aren't paying them. With over 70 clients, I have had only two who reneged on paying our commissions on all the work we have done or they have misrepresented our actual deal. Well, this week I had to take one to court for non payment of our commissions and I just got word that my company prevailed.. ...AGAIN. The Judge literally said "It looks like Mr. Salas did a good job for you. I don't understand why you are not paying him". This artist was vulgar and verbally abusive to my wife and I prior to seeing the judge. This particular artist went from making close to zero in non-interactive streaming royalties to earning over $6800 per month because I believed him when no other lawyer would touch his case. I went hard after his label...After months of dodging me, the label maintained that this artist signed away his royalties in an agreement for a period of perpetuity (forever). I took the agreement to a forensic handwriting specialist and they proved we were right. Soon after the artists royalties started flowing in for my client. Unfortunately the Artist felt I did not deserve any more commissions after a few months even though my commission was only a fraction of his actual earnings. We are not a litigious company but if there is a problem we use "The courts to resolve them " and TWICE it has worked in our favor. There is a much more SERIOUS issue with different artist which the law is dealing with right now....I will explain in the coming days. FINALLY with that said ..This is the SECOND time I have prevailed against this particular artist so I though this wonderful song was appropriate. #justiceprevails #TwoTimeLoser See more
