I know it’s another baseball metaphor but it’s just that time of year. I caught little T squaring one up last Saturday. He was telling me how good it feels when you hit the ball on the sweet spot. I was thinking how, for every one of those hits on the sweet spot there’s like 5-10 others that are not as good (sorry T) and countless more swings in practice with varied results. Like many other things in life, it takes practice, repetition and an ability to bounce back and learn from failures. When we persist at doing something it gets easier because we have become better at it.

Hey mom, look what I made! My daughter reminded me again at breakfast of a fact that we are aware of but often forget: Sometimes it’s nearly impossible not to view a thing as waste, garbage, or wrecked beyond repair (like toast crust for example), but then that thing can be repurposed, rearranged or viewed in a different way and turned into something productive or amazing. A new perspective :)
