Dr. Cori Phinn, DVM, is a new columnist for the Press Banner. Dr. Phinn is the veterinarian and owner of Coast Veterinary Services. She is a Santa Cruz native who grew up riding and being involved in Pony Club. She graduated with Honors from California State University, Chico and went on to Ross University to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She completed clinical rotations at Texas A & M and an internship at Triangle Equine Clinic. With the encouragement of other l...ocal equine veterinarians, she founded Coast Veterinary Services in 2008. She began offering care to Dog and Cat patients in 2012 to meet the growing demand to care for the entire animal family. Dr. Phinn lives in Santa Cruz County with her husband, son and daughter. They share their lives with three horses, three rescue dogs, a cat and chickens. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her children grow, laugh and discover the world. A long-debated #NextGen flight path shift from one part of the county to another is in design phase according to Federal Aviation Administration FAA representatives. The new path with its concentration of 180+ airplanes per day will impact San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley, Pasatiempo, Bonny Doon, City of Santa Cruz.
The Friends of the Scotts Valley Library present the photography of Ron Craig July 6 through September 21 at the library at 251 Kings Village Rd in #ScottsValley. Ron says, "I'm mindful of the fact that future generations may not have the opportunities to visit these same places, so my images are as much perhaps a historical record as they are a celebration of what we have today."
