We’re not in Kentucky but it is still Derby weekend and Woodford was nice enough to send us a bunch of Julep starter kits for home share. Kits come with one bottle of Distiller’s Select Woodford Reserve Kentucky Derby 146, four copper Julep mugs, two DSP - KY - 52 shirts, one Woodford branded hat, and a tote to carry it all in...$45 total enjoyment. Unfortunately the arrangement does not include sugar, mint, or ice. Ya’ll are on ye own there. Be safe. Wear a bonnet. Watch a race. And drink some good whiskey on a fine afternoon with the family.

Things have changed once again in Santa Cruz with respects to COVID-19 and the California health authority mandates to keep everyone safe. State health officials have decided that a closing of all in door dining is needed to quell the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases our state and county have been experiencing. Although this may be a death knell for our business, we as human people agree with the decision and will be closing all our in door dining areas and have placed a bunc...h of tables outside for service. Our TO GO window will also continue to be an option until the situation in the county improves. Hopefully this action will stem the tide of COVID-19 cases in our county and also serve as a wake up call to some to please please please follow all health guidelines proffered by the state. The sooner we all take heed and follow the advice of our community health experts, the sooner we will all be back to what we love to do. Stay safe. Stay diligent. Lavender Sour Chamomile Sour Two sizes : 30oz (6 drinks) = $32 ($2 off with mason jar return) 20oz (4 drinks) = $27 ($2 off with mason jar return) They are already diluted, so the jars just need to be shaken and then poured over ice. Must tell you: Alcoholic beverages that are packaged by this establishment are open containers and may not be transported in a motor vehicle except in the vehicle’s trunk; or, if there is no trunk, the container may be kept in some other area of the vehicle that is not normally occupied by the driver or passengers (which does not include a utility compartment or glove compartment (Vehicle Code Section 23225)). Dear Pub Lovers, The Parish Publick House is committed to the health and safety of our employees, customers, and community. This includes reinforcement of recommended procedures for minimizing the transmission of COVID-19 and the seasonal flu. We want to be a place where our community can occasionally take a break and enjoy a delightful meal and whiskey and a beer while supporting the public health goals of Santa Cruz County. With that in mind, we have implemented the followi...ng procedures at The Parish Publick House: Proper handwashing (20 seconds with soap under hot water) throughout the shift and use of the behind the bar hand sanitizers No touching of the face, eyes, hair, head, beard, during the shift and if there is a need to do so then employees are required to wash and/or sanitize their hands immediately No handshakes; proper cough/sneeze etiquette No touching the rims or inside of glassware unless wearing gloves, and all gloves are to be discarded immediately afterward Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces on a regular basis throughout the shift. This includes every countertop, table-top, faucets, handrails, tap handles, door handles and bathroom doors. Additional plates, silverware, napkins, and water glasses are now available by request, we don’t have communal stations but are making clear to our guests that they shouldn’t help themselves to our wares to reduce contact. We will not be able to serve tastes or splashes All staff instructed to take paid sick time if ill We have also tried to move our tables and chairs further apart to allow for voluntary social distancing. We’re also monitoring the number of folks enjoying our facility at any time to comply with state and local requirements. While this hasn’t been an issue, know that we are on top of it. We want to thank our community for doing their part and taking some extra precautions at this time. In an effort to keep yourself, our staff, and our community healthy and safe we have a few requests when visiting us at The Parish Publick House: When entering the restaurant please wash your hands in the restroom.
