Throwback of one of our previous scholarship recipients Sean Day is a Navy Seal that served in the Navy for 11 years and served in over 100 combat missions to Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, and South America. He is at Fresno State studying agricultural sciences and received one of our Bautista Foundation scholarships. The next morning he sent me a text telling me he donated part of the scholarship to Fresno State Plant Science Club for the community education garden. Warrior..., Scholar, and giver...awesome. We would like to recognize and thank Dr. Luis Bautista for his service to our country during the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In April, Dr. Bautista deployed to New York to work at the Harlem Hospital. Dr. Bautista went to medical school at New York Medical College and was also in New York on 9/11. Today we dropped off roughly 100 gratuity bags to the farm workers who pick strawberries in the Oxnard area. Thanks to all who donated, helped and prayed for us.

Two more weeks of delivering the gratitude bags with the essential items! Let’s go!

Big thank you to Philip Brandt for always backing us up. With 1,000 2lbs bags of rice donated from the Stockton area for our farmworkers retrieving the donation became a last minute issue. Phil without a question responded I’ll go get it! We all have that friend that is always down! You helped make a lot of people happy. @drgintegrativemd

You can give back! Don Lolo picked in the fields for many years and even at an older age had no insurance. With lettuce/cabbage being difficult due to bending over as well as Rheumatoid arthritis Don Lolo depended on his doc and friend. Dr. Ignacio Guzman often goes back to his hometown of Gonzales CA and treats many friends, family and farm workers. Don Lolo often pays with a case of refreshments .
