I could write a book about this topic... Step-parents are not the same as bio parents. In order to live a peaceful life come into this role with healthy boundar...ies and never force a child to call you mom or dad. The biggest and most shocking complaint i hear is step-mom told my kid she is the new mommy. First of all I call BS. Does anyone really say that? I don’t believe it. Second of all, bio parents don’t train your kid to hate step-parents for your benefit. You (step)are just one more person (family member) to love and cherish these sweet little people. Know and respect your role. Dont let the bio parent you are married to, to dump his or her PARENTAL responsibility on you!
