Katie and Tom fell in love during graduate school in Milwaukee and, after moving to Northern California in 2015, started a love affair with Lake Tahoe. Katie taught Tom how to "pizza" and "french fry" on the slopes at Squaw, they have backpacked all over the Sierra, and when they got a Golden Retriever, Tahoe quickly became "Westley's" favorite place to adventure too! (Westley is absolutely adorable too!) Like so many couples, it was a natural choice to get married in t...heir favorite place, and High Camp at Squaw Alpine was selected as their venue. Jodee Debes captured Their absolutely gorgeous day. On a perfectly clear day, the High Camp deck was adorned with greenery and roses by Love and Lupines, and the blue waters of Lake Tahoe were in view. As a beloved family member, Westley was at the wedding and wore the sweetest garland too! After a ceremony officiated by their close friend, Katie and Tom rode down the mountain with their families and celebrated by dancing to a special playlist. Chelsea and Devin's original wedding plans included a guest list of 220, but 2020 had other plans. They landed at 28 close friends and family who would join them for a socially distanced microwedding at the iconic White Wolf Tahoe. While it certainly wasn't the size of wedding they were originally expecting, Chelsea and Devin's wedding planned by Mountain Thyme Events was filled with so many special moments. They will never forget seeing each other for the first time at ...the ceremony's birch arch, exchanging their handwritten vows, or canoeing out to their first dance on a boulder in the middle of the White Wolf pond. And the bride and groom both felt that the silver lining of a smaller wedding is the ability to interact and spend quality time with everyone who is there. "I love you to the mountains and back" was the theme of Caroline and Greg's intimate camping elopement. As a couple who enjoys skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and climbing, these two wanted to bring that same spirit of adventure into their special day, and, when their original plan for a huge wedding at Kirkwood was interrupted by COVID-19, Caroline and Greg pivoted to an elopement at their favorite secret camping spot in the Sierra.
