The Mission Rock neighborhood master-plan developed by the San Francisco Giants and Tishman Speyer was unveiled this week. The development includes 4 buildings designed in a unique collective process that includes internationally renowned architecture firms MVRDV, Studio Gang, Henning Larsen, and WORK Architecture Company. Building A, a 23 story residential building, was created by MVRDV in collaboration with Perry Architects who will serve as the Architect of Record for the project.

After 12 years, Booker T. Washington Community Center and John Burton Residence opened their doors yesterday with a great turn out, including Senator Scott Wiener, Mayor Ed Lee, former mayor and assembly speaker Willie Brown and former mayor Art Agnos. We’re very proud to be part of a program that provides 25 residences for homeless youth. The full program includes 50 residential units and terrace, Chibi-Chan Child Care Center, Youth Radio, Bike Repair Program, Dance Studio, Tech Center and the jewel of the project, a NBA size basketball court. Kudos to Project Architect Dirk Pauels and the many other dedicated folks at Booker T. Washington Community Center, Equity Community Builders, Fisher, Mayors Office of Housing, Adapture and Cliff Lowe Associates.
