A cold storm system is expected to impact southwest California through this evening, with its effects lingering into early Tuesday morning for a few mountain lo...cations across L.A. and Ventura Counties. The main front went through the region last night, but there will continue to be scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms through early this evening. Significant snow accumulations are expected above 5,000 feet, with light snow accumulations possible down to 3,000 feet in and around thunderstorms. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the LA, Ventura and Santa Barbara County mountains through this evening for Santa Barbara County, and just past midnight for the southern mountain zones. Thunderstorms will also be capable of producing brief intense downpours which could cause minor debris flows near recent burn areas, such as the Bobcat, Ranch2, Dam and Lake Burn Areas in L.A. County. Motorists are encouraged to slow down in rainy conditions and allow extra travel time. Travel in the mountains should be avoided, but if it is necessary, carry chains and a survival kit. The COVID-19 vaccine is in Los Angeles County. We still have a long way to go before everyone in the county has access so we must continue to wash our hands, wear our mask, and avoid crowds.

If you catch COVID-19 you can be contagious two days before your symptoms appear. Stay home if possible and follow safety guidelines. Together, we can slow the spread.
