Thursday Night Fights returns to the School of Chivalry on November 14th 2013! Doors open at 6:30pm! We will be running 3 Speed Tournaments back to back, SCA Rules based. The will be Sword and Shield, followed by Single Sword and then Two Handed Sword to wrap up the night. Matched 2 handed rattan swords will be provided as well as gauntlets if needed. The event will be video taped for training purposes and trophies will be provided for the winners in each event. This is ...an Open tournament so no School membership is required although the $10 Floor Access fee does apply. We encourage all able bodies fighters to participate as these tournaments are great opportunities to demonstrate and hone your skills. *Thursday Night Fights is a series of in house Tournaments designed to help fighters excel by putting them in competitive pressure situations as often as possible. Fighters of all experience levels experience anxiety when they are placed in must perform situations, such as tournaments. This anxiety often leads to fighter performance issues often referred to as ‘ Tourney Choke’. One of the only ways to get fighters over ‘choking’ in clutch moments is to place them in pressure environments until it becomes ‘normal’ to them. Thursday Night Fights is designed to take fighters out of the ‘comfort’ zones so they can expand their experiences and learn to perform in a variety of situations.* http://schoolofchivalry.com/?p=189
