Someone asked why we have a rainbow sign on our church, since as Christians, we welcome all. He also asked if we allow gay marriage. Here was our response: Thank you for contacting us! We’re so glad you asked. St. Alban’s is an Episcopal church which is part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. Our central understanding of the Gospel is that God loves us no matter what. To that end, the Episcopal church is active in inviting and welcoming all people with a diversity of bel...ief, race, sexual orientation, age, gender, and opinion. By including the rainbow on our sign, we indicate that we are a safe and welcoming church for those who identify as LGBQT+. The LGBQT+ community is often rejected in places of worship and thus many of those who would like to have a church home are afraid to come to church, worried that they might be condemned or rejected. The rainbow shows that we are allies. And yes, we even allow and joyfully officiate gay marriages. I have included in this email our Digital Welcome Packet which outlines more thoroughly our beliefs and practices. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me: [email protected].

Prayers for all in Yucaipa. The El Dorado fire is nasty! A Collect for Those in Harm's Way God our protector, you shielded the three brothers, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego as they faced the furnace of fire. You stayed the mouths of the lions while Daniel slept in their den. You moved the waters of the Red Sea as your people crossed through. Protect all those who are harm’s way. Shelter all those who are in danger under your wing and hold them safely in your arms. Give those who work for the protection of others your Holy Wisdom, your deep compassion, and the endurance to run the race. In the name of One God: Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. Amen.
You are invited to stop by St. Alban’s today (Monday) from 9:00 am - 11:00 am to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion (bread only). (Mask required.)
