Sonoma County Public Law Library 13.11.2020

Since we closed our building to the public on March 17, the Sonoma County Public Law Library has been working to restore and reconnect our patrons to library resources and services. We have increased our online resources and connected more people to those. We have served hundreds of patrons via phone calls, emails, and curbside book lending. Our staff has been working behind locked doors five days a week to assist anyone in need of legal information. ACCESS TO JUSTICE and I...NFORMATION has always been our priority and we cannot give up during the pandemic when our fellow patrons are facing numerous issues. As the director of the Library, I must ensure the health and the safety of our staff while providing the best services to the public. Thanks to new state guidelines, libraries are classified as retail and we are allowed to reopen with modifications under the maximum 25% capacity. With that having been said, I am very pleased to announce that effective Monday September 21, 2020, the Law Library will provide in-person services to the public. The Library will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm so the staff can disinfect the used areas at the end of each day. Everyone is welcome to visit our Library for legal research. Following the physical distancing guidelines, we can only have twelve (12) people at a time inside the building. The main door will remain locked from outside so we can easily control the capacity. When you are here, please knock on the front door and a member of our staff will soon approach to assist you. In case you want to study/work in the library, it will be very helpful to call in advance so we can reserve a desk for you. BE AWARE that all the State or County precautions and regulations regarding COVID-19 will be followed precisely inside the building and without any exception. You WILL NOT BE ALLOWED to enter the building without a mask or with a fever over 100.4F (38C.) For any further questions, please, contact the Law Library at 707-565-2668 or at [email protected] Thank you for your support and your understanding. Nikolaos Pelekis Law Library Director
