"Krulle-Beaton's predominant subject matter of bare trees are her response to the way branches form against the white of snow in the winter sky. According to the artist, those branches in her work are intended to hold the light of the sky much like the leading does in stained glass. ..."

This week we are pleased to highlight Northern California artist Oceana Rain Stuart. Oceana Rain Stuart is a figurative sculpture artist and poet. Stuart was born in California and grew up in a multi-generational artistic family, and is primarily self-taught. Her sculptures capture moments of vulnerability permanently frozen in bronze. She explains, "my purpose is to find empathy in the work I create and to explore the tension and complexity of the subject matter. I’m fascinated by the subtle physical gestures, like the movement of a hand, the gaze of the eyes, as well as the contradictions that are enclosed in body language and how each face shares a lifetime of stories." #oceanarainstuart #figuralsculpture #contemporarysculpture
