The IRS was refusing to give people CARES Act relief payments if they were incarcerated. A federal judge in Scholl v. Mnuchin , No. 4:20-cv-5309-PJH (N.D. Cal.) ordered the IRS to give people payments if they qualify for them, even if incarcerated.... If you or someone you know did not get a payment because you were incarcerated and you qualify, you can get a payment if you send in a form by October 15, 2020. Our #GRYD #Newton1 and #Newton2 #PreventionTeams were honored to be invited to a historic motion presented by Councilman Curren D. Price, Jr. & Councilmember Herb J. Wesson, Jr. in renaming a stretch of Figueroa Street from Olympic Blvd. to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in honor of Kobe Bryant. As our Program Coordinator, Jessica Guerrero, expressed "We believe that as active advocates for the community in the South Central neighborhoods we hold the duty to represent them in e...vents such as these. Kobe Bryant was and will continue to be a very influential role model for more than his basketball accomplishments. Many of our clients felt the loss of this famous athlete and loving father because he represented what could be accomplished with true effort, courage, and dedication, despite facing any adversity. The youth in our community continue to look up to Kobe because of his lifelong effort to inspire young female athletes and many youth of color" #KobeBryantDay #824 See more
