Hi Subscribers, the severe rain cloud moved past some of our main wireless links so most service is restored. But it seems to be slow moving so full capacity in some areas may be delayed. Also, we are seeing some areas with power outages too so we will be assessing that as well. Thanks for your patience.

Wow. Finally looks like 95% of the power restored in our areas. What a brutal week for all of us who use electrical power. From your internet service provider, Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. Now we need to assess the lingering damage on all our devices from the power spikes. So we will go into that the next few days and into next week. Be sure to try and unplug all your devices for several minutes if you still have any outages. Pretty much all our services are back online, just FYI. But, we will run tests on our end as well to try and see any resulting performance issues from the Great Power Outage of 2019.

Hello Subscribers, Thanks for hanging in there with us today, trying to manage the fallout from this PgE fiasco. We have been working very hard to get service restored in as many places as we can. We have a big portion of our service area back online with generators, and a few areas that got their power back on recently or those lucky enough today that had it left on. however, there is still a large swath of area in Newcastle with power outages. we are monitoring as best we can the situation. Unfortunately, the PgE outage maps are not working well so we are more reactive than proactive as we would like to be. But we are on duty and responding. This may cause interruptions to your internet service. Please bear with us as we will be monitoring the situation and responding to any outages as best and as fast as we can. Hi Subscribers! Wanted to notify you that we have some maintenance happening tonight at 9PM, going until 5am. One of our internet Providers is upgrading some equipment so some client traffic (not all) may get re-routed to our alternate Provider, when it does there may be a brief interruption. Hi. We want to let Subscribers know that PGE is doing a lot of maintenance in the area in the coming weeks. We currently have an outage due to one of these maintenance windows, but we weren't aware until it was too late. We will have a generator in place shortly for this outage. Service should be restored about 1145. There may be a short blip around 5-6pm when we put the site back on house power. We do apologize for the inconvenience. We will be working to improve and lengthen our battery back up systems on our bigger sites in the coming weeks.

Just a friendly reminder for any clients who feel they are having issues with their internet service: please call in when you have any concerns and we will do our best to determine what the problem is. Most issues (minus power outages) are unique to each subscriber, so one Neighbors issue wont necessarily be your issue. There are many variables we look at when we try to manage your wireless connections (line of sight, interference, antenna condition) or wh...en we troubleshoot your local network (router condition, computers, devices). And we cant always see that you are having a problem when we monitor the connections, so help us help you and call in when you think you're not getting what you should. ***Attention*** First off, Hi SkyHi Subscribers. Second, Happy Holidays and Merry X-mas. I need to let you know to watch out for internet scams. We had a customer go to the gasbuddy.com website and one of the advertisements they saw pop up was for a $1000 Walmart gift card from SkyHi Broadband (See pic insert). While I wish we could, we do not have any promotions like this. This is a scam to get you to click on something, most likely a virus to get your personal information. These thieves will use any trick in the book, and they will even use names like Amazon too. Stay safe out there, and don't click on anything suspicious or too good to be true while trying to spread your cheer and shopping online.

well the hits just keep on coming. Reports of a car wreck took out a pole and took out Consolidated Communications main lines. Large portion of Lincoln is down. THis is affecting our primary backhaul as well, we are now on a backup connection. **Update 10am ** Consolidated reports their service will be down until this evening. Apparantly they need to set a new pole in the ground, then they need to rerun the fiber optics. not an easy project. But again, we are on backup so service should be online. If you dont have service, please call in - it could be your DNS settings in your router. Thanks for your patience.

Happy Monday!!! Subscribers, just a quick notice to inform you that we did have some issues with our primary internet service provider CCI this morning (some issue with their core router affecting large areas of Northern California). It sounded like they were almost done with a repair, but service may have been a little wonky this morning. Started about 330am.

Update: Consolidated has put a patch in place so we are back to full capacity. BUT, they havent replaced the 3000 ft of fiber yet that melted. Once they do, they will need to cut over again. but services shouldnt be affected too long. For those who know if they have bridged service on our network, please be sure to adjust your DNS settings in your routers to "Auto" .... All Subscribers please be advised that our main back haul provider consolidated communications has a service outage. Apparently a fire in the area melted a line so we are currently on a back up connection so service maybe interrupted or slow until repairs can be made. I am told there is no ETA yet but the crews are on site. please bear with us today

Its a little smokey today, so many fires. But I want to give a shout out to our own Mark VonThaden, a tech for SkyHi Broadband. He is a Volunteer Firefighter for CalFire and we give him the flexibility to go fight these fires in order to save life and property for our community when the paid guys are stretched thin. The guy works so hard and responds to many calls in our areas, but today its the: #SunsetFire [update] off Sunset Blvd. West and South Brewer Rd, northwest of Roseville (Placer County) is now 1000 acres & 50% containe as of 550pm. He really does make us proud, and we as a commuity are lucky to have such a dedicated volunteer to do the hard jobs and protect us from these local fires.
