From our Community Partner-- Breathe California: On August 24, 2020, SB 793, a landmark legislation authored by State Senator Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) to end the sale in California of flavored tobacco products including menthol passed a full Assembly vote. This bill containing the strongest flavored tobacco restrictions in the U.S. was passed despite a multi-million dollar advertising onslaught desperately trying to trick legislators into siding with the tobacco industry and... opposing SB 793. It now goes back to the California State Senate for concurrence. We believe that it is crucial to let our lawmakers know that we support their efforts to prevent tobacco use and protect our children from a lifetime of addiction to nicotine: Please send an email or tweet to thank the California State Assemblymembers who co-authored this important bill.
