May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! One of the many within Law Enforcement is our very own Officer Samson Pak. He is Korean-Chinese American whose parents are first generation immigrants to America. Officer Pak has been serving in law enforcement for 7 years. Prior to becoming an officer he was a competitive BMX rider and an ABA therapist for autistic youth. Currently is the baseball coach for Patrick Henry. What he appreciates most from his upbringing are the values his parents taught him. Good work ethic, empathy, and mindfulness all help him to be a better officer!

Today was a first for us at the San Diego Unified School District Police Department. We had the honor to swear in our newest officer, Pat Vinson, virtually this morning using Zoom. We are excited to have officer Vinson on board!

Now more than ever we recognize the value of teachers in our childrens' lives. Thank you to all the teachers not only here with the San Diego Unified School District but with every school district!
