As you know, our monthly meeting was cancelled last night, but Dr. Colleen Hug has provided an article to keep us all slip sliding away...... Dr. Colleen Hug is a Naturopathic doctor and recent graduate of Bastyr University (June 2019). She has started her 2-year residency at an integrative clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Hug has her Bachelor's degree in Medical Microbiology from University of New Hampshire. With a special interest in botanical medicine, she is interested in herbal medicine as a modality in primary care for acute, chronic, and preventative treatment for illness. Pharmacognosy reveals the biochemistry behind a world of tastes, smells, and textures in plant medicine. The general rules and characteristics explained in this article apply to almost all polysaccharide-abundant plants that you encounter. Because of Covid-19, and tightened restrictions on how many people can gather together, and our responsibility to the community at large, the April in-person event is cancelled. Do not despair! We are working on a way to provide the essential value of the event so that you may enjoy it from the comfort of your own home. We will keep you posted on this, and future events. Be well, friends.
