With the ever increasing opiate addiction crisis; MD's and hospitals are turning to alternative measures to deal with pain. Acupuncture is a proven therapy that is increasingly being recommended and used for acute and chronic pain. The Food and Drug Administration has now released proposed changes to its blueprint on educating health care providers about treating pain. The guidelines now recommend that doctors get information about acupuncture as a form of therapy that might help patients avoid prescription opioids.
