JUST CLOSED Congrats to our sellers on closing escrow on their long time Porter Ranch home. They reached out to me almost a year ago. So many conversations and questions answered to help them get the home ready for sale and to keep them updated on the market. They came to the USA from India in the 70s and after renting for a few years they bought a townhouse in Sunland they outgrew. They moved to Arleta before buying this home in Porter Ranch. This was before all of the ...S&S homes were built and the growth that has taken place over the last 30 years in Porter Ranch. They had never even heard of Porter Ranch until their realtor had the foresight to tell them about how much of an upcoming neighborhood it was. Unfortunately, the husband passed away in 2010 and the wife is finishing chemo after her cancer came back. She had worked for over 40 years at Cedar Sinai hospital before retiring recently. Her and her daughter are moving close by. The decided to sell the home to a family friend who tried to lowball the seller by 175k. We were able to make sure our clients' interests were protected and negotiated the terms including a free 50 day rent back and the buyer paid for 5k of the seller's closing costs. JUST CLOSED Welcome West Hills newest homeowners. Another heartwarming story. Our buyers met in 2009 up in Northern California working for different non-profits. Their paths continued to cross and in 2010 they went on their first date which was a grad fair and a celebration/political rally for the wife’s boss who had just won re-election. The last several years have not been easy as the husband was on dialysis. He was on a waiting list for over 4.5 years for a kidney tr...ansplant. He put his name on a waiting list at hospitals in LA but also just for the heck of it, UC Davis even though they moved down to LA for work. They were hoping for the husband’s dad to be a donor but it did not work out. Last June they got a call from UC Davis they had a match and they needed to travel up their right away. They rushed up there and ended up staying there for over 6 weeks in different hotels and AirBnB for all of the follow up appointments and procedures. Fast forward to last December, I received an email from them after seeing our profile on Zillow. We scheduled a meeting on zoom to answer all of their questions. I will give them credit, they asked the most detailed questions and wanted to know several references. I knew we were going to be a good fit. We started looking at homes in March in Porter Ranch and found the perfect home for them in West Hills. Perfect timing also because they just found out they are expecting this November. I see many real estate agents posting on social media that they sold a home within one day. That's a neat stat, but it's not a great strategy. There's a reason you don't want to sell in one day.
